Do I need to wear sunscreen every day?
First of all, preventing sunburn is essential. Burning your skin causes real damage and should always be avoided.
Beyond that, we believe in making informed choices that feel right for you. UV exposure, especially UVA, is one of the main drivers of premature skin aging. So if your goal is to support your skin in a slow aging process, daily sunscreen can definitely help.
At the same time, if that is not your main focus, it is perfectly fine to use sunscreen more intentionally, for example during periods of stronger sun exposure. It is about finding a balance that works for your skin and your lifestyle.
Why did you choose chemical filters instead of mineral filters?
We carefully selected modern, next-generation UV filters that are highly effective, stable, and gentle on the skin. These modern UV filters work mainly at the skin surface, similar to mineral filters.
We chose not to use mineral filters like zinc oxide not because they are harmful, but because they can sometimes feel drying, leave a visible white cast, and often result in a thicker texture. Our goal was to create a sunscreen that feels lightweight, comfortable, and easy to wear every day, without compromising on safety or performance. At the same time, we stayed true to Nourist values by using clean, natural, and organic ingredients wherever possible.
Are these UV filters safe?
Yes. We only use approved, well-researched UV filters that are considered safe for daily use. They are designed to provide effective protection with very low skin absorption, meaning they mostly stay where they are needed, on the skin.
Is this sunscreen clean or natural?
At Nourist, we work with a strong preference for natural and organic ingredients, always choosing clean and safe components. For this sunscreen, we stayed as close as possible to natural cosmetic standards.
Because effective sun protection requires specific UV filters, the formula is not fully natural, but every ingredient is carefully selected with both skin health and safety in mind.
Is there a perfume inside?
We usually prefer to keep our formulas free from added fragrance. However, in this case, the combination of the UV filters and the mild preservation system created a natural scent that we, and many testers, experienced as unpleasant.
We chose to add a very soft, natural, allergen-free fragrance (from essential oils) to create a more pleasant experience, without compromising skin tolerance. This fragrance was carefully selected and tested, and is well tolerated, even by sensitive skin.
Can I use this sunscreen on my body?
You absolutely can. However, we specifically developed this formula for the face, with added actives like Hyaluronic Acid and Bifida Ferment to support hydration and the skin barrier.
A dedicated body sunscreen is definitely on our roadmap.
Will it clog my pores or cause breakouts?
No. The formula is lightweight, non-comedogenic, and pore-friendly, designed to sit comfortably on the skin without clogging pores. This makes it suitable even for sensitive or breakout-prone skin.
Does it leave a white cast?
No. Thanks to the use of modern UV filters, the formula blends seamlessly into the skin, leaving an invisible finish.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. The formula was tested on sensitive skin and is designed to be gentle and well tolerated. We included a natural fragrance, but made sure it is hypoallergenic and carefully balanced.
Can I use this as my day cream?
It can be used on its own, especially if you prefer a more minimal routine. However, for optimal skin health and nourishment, we recommend applying a serum or moisturizer underneath, depending on your skin’s needs.
How much should I apply?
For optimal protection, apply a generous amount, about two finger lengths for the face, and reapply every two hours when exposed to the sun.
Does it help with skin aging?
Yes. Daily UV protection is one of the most effective ways to help prevent premature skin aging and dark spots. This sunscreen supports that by combining broad-spectrum protection with hydration and barrier care.
Is this sunscreen water-resistant?
No, and this is a conscious choice.
When formulating this sunscreen, we prioritized a lightweight, comfortable skin feel that you’ll actually want to wear every day. Water-resistant formulas often require heavier film-forming ingredients, which can make the texture feel thicker, less breathable, and sometimes less pleasant on the face.
For a daily face sunscreen, we believe that a formula you enjoy using consistently is just as important as the protection itself.
That said, during swimming, sweating, or prolonged sun exposure, we always recommend reapplying regularly.
For the body, where water resistance becomes more essential, we would absolutely consider a more water-resistant formula in the future.
Does it protect immediately after applying?
Unlike what is often said, modern UV filters start working right away. However, they do need a moment to spread evenly and form a uniform layer on the skin. This ensures that the protection is consistent across the entire face.
That’s why we recommend applying your sunscreen a few minutes before sun exposure, especially if you’re heading into direct sunlight.
Think of it less as “waiting for it to activate,” and more as giving it the time to settle into an even, protective film.
Can children use this sunscreen?
Yes, they can. The formula is gentle and well tolerated, making it suitable for sensitive skin, including children’s.
That said, this sunscreen was specifically developed for the face, with added actives like Hyaluronic Acid and Bifida Ferment to support hydration and the skin barrier.
